Required information

• The issuing authority and responsible officer or attorney.
• The legal basis, jurisdiction and signed request.
• The specific account, room, date range and records sought.
• A safe official contact channel for verification.

Preservation and emergencies

Preservation requests must identify the relevant account or event and requested period. Emergency requests should explain the imminent risk and why ordinary legal process cannot be used in time.
